Using Again Soon
How do I start tracking a habit or activity?
Add an item and choose its name, color, and optional photo. Its history starts empty unless you choose a first entry. Each deliberate logging tap creates a separate dated entry, including repeats on the same day.
Choose Do more, Maintain a rhythm, Do less, or Stop if you want a goal. Just track is the default and keeps a history without a target. Goals can change without removing existing entries. Free includes five active items; archiving one keeps its history and makes room for another.
How should I read the charts and goal progress?
Entries count every record. Active days count distinct local dates, so multiple entries on one day do not become multiple active days. Calendar and timing heatmaps show when entries were recorded. Plus adds longer analytics ranges and period comparisons.
Feedback follows the goal you chose. A Do less or Stop entry is a recorded occurrence, rather than a success for adding a record. An empty date only means nothing was logged. The app cannot determine whether the activity actually happened.
Can I add or correct an older entry?
Open history to add, edit, or delete an entry, or choose a day in Calendar and add one there. Dates must be now or in the past. Canceling an edit preserves the saved record.
Calendar and charts use the current device calendar and time zone. Changing time zones can move a timestamp to a different displayed date.
What do private items hide?
Device-owner authentication reveals identifying details for an app session. Locking the app or leaving it conceals them again. Calendar dates and generic analytics counts remain visible while locked.
Private items are excluded from widgets and default exports. Including them in a backup requires authentication and explicit confirmation. Optional iCloud sync includes them. See the privacy policy for what these visibility controls protect.
How do I keep or restore a backup?
In Settings → Backups, export a JSON file to a destination you control. Check whether it includes private items. The file is readable and is not separately encrypted by Again Soon.
Restore validates the file, shows a preview, and asks before replacing the current library. Cancel keeps the current library. An export that omitted private items cannot restore them.
What if my library or backup will not open?
The app preserves unreadable originals. Use Retry if offered. Recover previous backup uses a previous validated local snapshot, which can be older than your latest changes. Keep the original file and export working records before another replacement.
Avoid uninstalling as a first recovery step because it can remove local data. Note the exact error and what you did immediately before it. A support report does not need a full personal backup by default.
Do reminders record an entry automatically?
No. A place or review prompt asks you to open the app and decide. Only your deliberate logging action creates an entry. Saving a place is separate from enabling a Plus place prompt.
Background arrivals require the appropriate location and notification permissions. Delivery depends on iOS and your settings. Turn off individual prompts in the app or change permissions in iOS Settings. Manual logging stays available.
What happens if I cancel Plus?
Existing items, history, logging, editing, archiving, and export remain available. Creating or unarchiving above five active items requires Plus. Paid prompts and sync pause when Plus ends or cannot be verified. Theme selections are kept, while Paper Ritual remains available for Free.
Manage subscriptions in your Apple account settings. Restore purchases is available in the app. Apple shows your local price and billing terms before purchase. See subscription terms.
How does optional iCloud sync work?
Sync starts off and requires Plus and a separate opt-in. Enabling it transfers your complete library, including private items, photos, and saved places, to your private iCloud database. Apple account changes require confirmation before syncing with a different account.
A completed sync state is different from an enabled setting. If sync is interrupted or offline, keep your local library and retry when the connection is available. Turning sync off stops new transfers and keeps existing cloud records. Deletion uses retained sync records, and the app has no control that purges all retained cloud data. See the iCloud and retention sections before deleting or uninstalling.
Send a useful support report
Email [email protected] with the app version and build, iOS version, the action you took, the exact error, and what you expected to happen. A redacted screenshot can help. If iCloud shows a diagnostic code, include that code and the status you saw.
Do not include passwords, verification codes, private photos, or a full personal library unless a specific issue requires it and you deliberately agree. Read the privacy policy for how support correspondence is handled.
